The Site Foreman has been in business for nearly two decades and has built a reputation on exceptional service when it comes to designing and building Sydney’s custom design new homes and major home renovations.
Health Life Design presenter and personality, John Eusson, sat down with TSF Managing Director, Stephen Moore, to share more about what homeowners can expect as well as how the process works when designing and building, or renovating their dream home.
Who are The Site Foreman?
Stephen – “The Site Foreman are registered architects and project managers specialising in custom design new homes, major alterations and additions and also medium density construction and management.”
John – “Is that more residential? Or residential and commercial?”
Stephen – “It’s primarily residential… The way that we operate our business is quite unique in that we employ both architects and project managers. We have identified that it’s a different skill set. Our registered architects will focus on design and our project managers are all licensed builders, who don’t build anymore, and they focus on the construction, on the tenders, and on the project management.”
How does the process work?
Stephen – “We have a unique three-step process. We break down the journey that you go through into three steps. So, the first step is architectural design. You will work with one of our architects and we will get your design approved. Then we hand over to the tender side. They will document your project and put it out to tender with the goal of setting you up with a fixed price and a fixed time contract. And then the third step is project management where we oversee the construction phase from the initial demolition all the way to handing the keys over at the end.”
What does ‘fixed price” actually mean?
Stephen – “Fixed price means that when you sign a building contract, the price is the price…”
Who is Stephen Moore? Who is the man behind this brand?
Stephen – “We ran a commercial building business for many years. We saw a lead in the marketing place for a service that will help people through the process. One of the trigger points for that was, and look it still happens today… People will have a set of plans that an architect had given them and a building estimate. Then when it’s properly quoted, that estimate is found to be nowhere near the reality. This is where it goes back to our unique three-step process.”
Stephen – “For most people, they will only do this once in a lifetime. We have had clients say that they’ve been saving and working toward this for 20 years … It is a big commitment both financially and emotionally for our clients.”
