New Dwelling | Duplex
Year: 2019 – Current
The original home was a 1960s two level red brick dwelling. Close to Bronte Beach in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, our clients goal was to captialise on the location with the construction of a duplex under stata title. The construction design will create a cutting edge building to achieve two contemporary family residences.
Close to boundary works involving both machine and delicate hand demolition of original structure.
Display of double brickwork for common walls of the duplex along with the reinforced concrete pool shell and On site Detention. Sandy soil conditions led to site challenges involving shoring up the boundary with a core-filled concrete block retaining wall.
Display of structural steel and timber framework for bi-fold door and skylight openings.
Plasterboard sheeting with dropped ceilings. Timber stair structure cantilevered over kitchen leading to huge 4 metre ceiling heights in living area. Display of full coverage of waterproofing to wall niche within bathroom.
